The following information is taken exclusively from the above named report compiled in 1962 by Jerry H. Service. Although the format is different, it is intended as a copy. This report is an alphabetical listing of all Civil War veterans whose graves in Emmet County were located through the fine research of Mr. Service.
The original service records of Union and Confederate Civil War Soldiers and the pension records of Union veterans are maintained at the National Archives Building in Washington, DC, where they are available for research to anyone at least age 16.
Each cemetery, where graves were located, is given a key number in the gravesite listings
