I'm interested in any information regarding Chases particularly in Pellston in the lat 1800's early 1900's. I have a grandfather George Julius that was born there and his grandfather Julius Increase died there, and it appears the family many have resided there at least 15 years or more.

Our family were in the Carp Lake area when it was founded- Samuel Ells and Jacob Ells his brother (our ancestor) and from the Bear Creek township area Charles, Gus and Theodore Ells. They were there in the 1870's and 1880's. They were all from Indiana before that and went to North Dakota after, except Charles who died in 1894.

My half great grand uncle was Marion Mead b. 2 Nov 1847 d. 6 Oct 1930 buried Lakeview Cemetery, Harbor Springs, Emmet County, Michigan. His wife was Zuba Louise Hoyt b. 7 Jan 1855 d. 12 Mar 1926 buried same as husband. Their two sons, Burr Vernon and Lloyd M. Mead also lived in Harbor Springs. Their two daughters, Minnie V. Mead married Eli Chadderdon [they settled in Calhoun County]

Dorothy Verle Phillips in the early 1920's. My father, George Harold
Weldon was born 10/31/1927 in Levering, MI. I am also looking for
information on an Archie Wolcott who was my grandmother's first husband.
Also, the surnames of Phillips, Wheaton, Spierling, Frisbie, Athearn, St.Louis,
Reeves, and Burns. All of these families (I think) originated from the
Emmet Co., Carp Lake Twp. area.
